As a (Guild) Lead Test Automation Engineer you are able to make our current Test Automation Engineers and Developers in their role. You are a genius in automation testing and you are able to explain a Non-IT person what Test Automation Engineering is. You are responsible for upgrading knowledge and skills at our Test Automation Engineers and the quality of our code. You are able to share (new) testing tools. The start of the story is defined and decided by you: tell and show us how we need to be better in testing and increase our knowledge!

Developers within Portbase are working according the T-Shaped model; having a defined area of expertise that goes deep in their field and having a broad knowledge in other areas of expertise. You will be the Guild who will Lead the Test Automation Engineers and work in one our teams of developers in multidisciplinary teams.

With your experience you are able to develop the QA strategy, design and build new automated testing solutions, review tests for new features, introduce testing tools and frameworks, and assist the teams in risk management and creating test cases.

Our development teams are in need of a dedicated (Guild) Lead Test Automation Engineer that will be end-to-end responsible for the testing way within Portbase. You are able to share knowledge and are open to receive feedback as well. The (Guild) Lead Test Automation Engineer has the desire and ambition to push the (technical) boundaries within the supply chain & logistics environment – perhaps create - the best practices.

We will give you the opportunity to introduce new tools and techniques to add to our tech-stack and if you are open to learn (more) about how to program (backend, frontend) we will enrich and broaden your skill set!

We would like you to share your experience, energy and not be limited to certain techniques, so that we will grow with each other!

Job requirements

Expected skills and experience

  • Experienced and proficient as a Test Automation Engineer and as a Lead Test Automation Engineer;
  • Experienced with Automation tools such as Selenium Webdriver, Cucumber or similar;
  • Experienced with developing a test strategy including a Test Automation Framework;
  • Experienced, familiar or able to introduce Test methods like SoapUI, TestNG, JMeter;
  • Experience with working in a Scrum/Agile environment, If you are able to then be the Lead;
  • Nice to bring: (some) programming experience in Java;
  • Experience with understanding requirements and testing;
  • Team player, open for feedback and able to share knowledge;
  • Strong communication skills in English.
